Welcome to the 2023 Rix Engineering AEMC/ASEMC Stage Rally Championship.
Promoted by the Associations of Eastern and South Eastern Motor Clubs
Welcome to the Rix Engineering AEMC / ASEMC 2023 Stage Rally Championship. Once again, we are promoting a single pan-regional championship covering the Eastern and South-Eastern regions which is promoted by the Association of Eastern Motor Clubs and the Association of South Eastern Motor Clubs. New for this year, and very welcome is sponsorship from Rix Engineering, a family engineering company based in Harleston, Norfolk, which specialises in tooling and components for the motorsport industry. Many of you will be familiar with Ian, Claire and Aaron Rix as regular competitors, marshals and officials in the East Anglian rally scene. Anyone who needs some parts for rally car can call the team on 01379 854387.
In 2022 for the second year running we had a father and son crew winning the championship, this time Wayne and Archie Larbalestier in their rapid EVO. Archie is in his first year as a co-driver and I remember back to Brands Hatch in January when he turned up at the stage arrival control looking very nervous and had managed to temporarily lose his timecard; a great performance through the year. Second overall was Corbeau Seats Rally stage sponsor Shaun Weston, co-driven by Jack Nottingham by just one point with Darrell Taylor third driver for the second year running, this time bringing Steve McNulty with him into third codriver spot.
For 2023, we are hoping that there will be nine rounds in the championship, with six to count, placing a premium on consistency throughout the year but giving more flexibility for crews based across the wider geography of the championship.
